Frequently Asked Questions

Let us answer some of the most common questions of our patrons.

Dental crowns aren’t meant to last forever-even the best ones can wear down over time. So how do you know when it’s time for a replacement?

Signs your crown may need to be replaced:

  • Pain or sensitivity around the tooth
  • Visible cracks, chips, or wear
  • Dark line or discoloration at the gumline
  • Receding gums exposing the edge of the crown
  • Crown feels loose or shifting
  • Food getting trapped around it

Most crowns last 10-15 years, but with great care, some can last even longer!

Replacing an old crown early can prevent bigger problems like decay or fractures underneath.

Timing matters when it comes to dental implants-and the good news is, you have options!

In many cases, we can place your implant the same day a tooth is removed. This results in:

  • Fewer appointments
  • Preserves bone
  • Faster overall treatment

Sometimes it’s best to allow the area to heal first.

  • Ideal if there’s infection
  • Improves long-term results

Root canals often get a bad reputation-but the truth is, they’re one of the best ways to save your natural tooth.

Why the bad reputation?

  • Outdated stories from years ago
  • Fear of pain (modern dentistry has changed this!)
  • Misunderstanding of what the procedure actually does

The reality today:

  • Root canals RELIEVE pain-they don’t cause it V They remove infection and protect your health
  • Most feel similar to getting a filling
  • They allow you to keep your natural tooth (always the goal!)

Why saving your natural tooth matters: Keeping your own tooth helps maintain your bite, jawbone, and overall oral health-without needing more complex treatments.
